Nuclear
medicine offers a specific functional approach of the organs and also investigates
the repercussion of disease on the normal function of these organs.
Contrarily to radiology, mainly anatomical, nuclear medicine studies indicate the pathophysiological conditions induced by the disease.
Recently, the introduction of nuclear medicine and radiological fusion imaging allowed a combination of anatomical and functional information simultaneously.
In this work, we briefly present the contribution of the technique in most important pathological conditions.
Also, the eventual necessary precautions to optimize the test will be presented.
The atlas will be progressively incremented.

and for his expert advice in the different fields of this work.
I also thank
Liliane Van Tricht, Nuclear Biologist, Jacques Paternot, Nuclear Physicist
and Roger Gheldof, Electronics Engineer, for their continuous help and support
during the realization of this nuclear medicine atlas.
